Who am I?

Hello, my name is Sven and I am a student at the Harens Lyceum in Groningen and I make websites for school assignments and for my portfolio. I am a frontend developer and I make websites with HTML, CSS and Javascript. I am also a backend developer and I make websites with Python and Flask. In my spare time I also like to play Home Assistant.

Programming

My passion for programming started because I loved doing things on the computer. Python was the first programming language I learned. After Python, I learned HTML and CSS. I started making simple websites and later added JavaScript to make the websites more interactive.

When I am not programming I like to play with Home Assistant. Home Assistant is an open source home automation platform based on Python 3. I use Home Assistant to automate my house. I am lazy when it comes to turning off the lights. So I created an automation that turns on the lights when I come home at night.

For programming I mainly use Microsoft tools like Visual Studio Code and GitHub. I also use Git for version control and the Terminal for quick command execution. All my projects are stored in their own GitHub repository. When I am programming, I also like to listen to music. One of my favourite artists is Bon Jovi. I like to listen to playlists on Spotify.
